Light Years

(Tim Nielsen)
Oh I've been workin so hard.
On weekends wash the dishes, clean the car, mow the yard.
Mondays come before I can blink.
All these occupations, don't have time to think.
When it's done nobody stands to cheer,
And there ain't no vacation time near,
I need a light year.

I muddle through like I'm in the dark.
Oh no I'm late already,
Where am I gonna park?
I could have sworn I paid that bill,
Where's that cancelled check?
I think I'm gonna be ill.
Some folks see the light and they're free,
As of yet, that hasn't happened to me.
I need a light year.

Think I might go out tonight.
When I hear that backbeat poppin, it'll be allright.
Lord I know just the place.
Where you don't need no rocket, to go to outer space.
When the music's playin loud, I'm miles above the crowd,
I'm talkin bout light years.
